The Essex County College Track & Field team closed out the regular season at the Fast Track Last Chance Invitational
Staten Island, NY- The Essex County College Track & Field team continued its strong indoor campaign with another impressive showing, highlighted by record-breaking performances and a wave of personal bests.
The women led the way once again. Ma'Avian Williams delivered a historic performance in the 60-meter hurdles, breaking her own school record twice. She ran 8.61 in the prelims before lowering it to 8.57 in the finals — a new ECC record that now ranks her #5 in the nation. She also added a personal best in the 60-meter dash (7.61) and finished second overall, capping a dominant day.
Kadina Deeble posted a personal best of 8.81 in the 60 hurdles finals and competed strongly in the 60 dash. Aaliyaha Morgan had a standout meet as well, placing third in the 200 meters (25.72) and fourth in the 400 meters (1:00.72), while Shermelle Freeman added solid performances in both events. Nebia Monrope contributed with a fourth-place finish in the 500 meters.
On the men's side, the sprint group continues to progress, led by Sanjay Weekes. Weekes ran 7.12 in the 60 meters and followed with an impressive 22.04 in a 100-athlete 200-meter field. Iddrisu Musah stayed close behind in both events, and Jamali Campbell recorded a personal best in the 200 meters.
Abdul Rahaman delivered one of the top performances for the men, finishing second in the 500 meters with a personal-best 1:07.66. In distance events, Matthew Grano earned a top-10 finish in the mile and a personal record in the 3000 meters to lead the group.
Overall, the Wolverines continue to build momentum — with the women excelling at a high level and the men steadily moving forward across the board.
