Williams Ranked Among NJCAA Leaders with Two National Qualifying Marks
Newark, NJ - Sophomore standout Ma'Avian Williams has positioned herself among the top performers in the nation after posting NJCAA qualifying marks in both the 60 meters and 60-meter hurdles during the 2026 indoor season.
Williams currently ranks 32nd nationally in the NJCAA in the women's 60 meters following her season-best time of 7.71 at the Fastrack National Invite on February 6, 2026. The mark not only met the NJCAA Division I national qualifying standard of 7.74 but also stands as one of the top sprint performances in program history.
In the 60-meter hurdles, Williams has been equally impressive. She ranks 12th nationally after clocking a season-best 8.84 at the Ramapo College Indoor Opener on January 16, 2026. The time surpassed the NJCAA qualifying standard of 8.97 and solidified her place among the nation's elite hurdlers.
Competing as a sophomore (SO-2) for Essex County College, Williams has demonstrated remarkable versatility and consistency throughout the indoor campaign. Her ability to qualify — and rank highly — in both events highlights her status as a premier dual-event athlete heading into the NJCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field National Championships in Topeka, Kansas.
With top-32 positioning in the 60 meters and a top-12 national ranking in the hurdles, Williams enters championship season as a legitimate contender on the national stage and a key contributor to the Wolverines' indoor success.
