Catonsville, MD – The Essex County College women's basketball team suffered a tough 61-59 road loss to CCBC Catonsville after a buzzer-beating shot ended a hard-fought game.
Despite taking the lead with under five seconds left on a tip-in by sophomore center, Kayley Lynch, Essex couldn't hold on. The Wolverines shot just 24.7% from the field but dominated the boards with 54 rebounds. Freshman guard, Gabriella Brown led with 16 points, while freshman foward, Essence Cushionberry and sophomore guard, Aniya Brown each added 12.
Essex looks to bounce back in a challenging Region 19 matchup against Division II nationally ranked Harcum College on Tuesday, December 9th at 5:00 PM in Newark.
