Iddrisu Musah, New School Record Holder & NJCAA Outdoor Nationals Qualifier in the Men's 200m Dash
Lincoln University, PA — on Thursday, at the Lincoln University Invitational saw the Essex County College Wolverines men's squad deliver a well-rounded performance across sprint and distance events.
Iddrisu Musah electrified the track in the men's 200-meter dash, as Musah captured first place with a blazing time of 21.02 seconds. The mark not only secured the victory but also established a new school record while automatically qualifying him for the NJCAA Outdoor National Championships—an early-season statement that underscores his rising profile.
Behind him, Essex showcased impressive depth in the event. Raziel O'Meally delivered a personal-best performance, clocking 22.8 seconds. Sophmore Issah Abdul Rahaman followed with a time of 23.4, while Jamali Campbell added a 24.1 finish. Brandon Lee-Williams rounded out the Wolverines' showing in 24.8 seconds.
In the men's 400-meter event, Essex turned in a competitive group effort. Rahaman led the Wolverines with a sixth-place finish in 51.29 seconds, while O'Meally followed closely with a 52.0 showing. Freshman Gideon Griffin clocked 52.6, and Lee-Williams delivered a personal-best performance of 56.1 seconds. Campbell rounded out the group, finishing in 57.69 seconds.
Essex also found success in the middle-distance events. Alejandro Arreaga placed second in the men's 800 meters with a time of 2:11, continuing a strong day on the track. In the men's 1500 meters, Matthew Grano secured a second-place finish in 4:08.5, with Arreaga doubling back to take third in 4:33, showcasing his range and endurance.
The collective effort across events highlighted emerging talent and depth for Essex County College. With a new school record, national qualification, multiple podium finishes, and several personal-best performances, the Wolverines continue to push the pace as the outdoor season progresses.
