Pedro Sousa enters his second season as Head Coach of the Essex County College men’s soccer program for the 2025–2026 campaign.

In his debut season at the helm, Sousa engineered an impressive turnaround, guiding the Wolverines to an 11-4-1 record and a #20 national ranking in NJCAA Division II. The season was highlighted by a signature win over then-#6 ranked CCBC Essex, cementing Sousa’s impact in his first year.

Before taking over as head coach in June 2024, Sousa served as an assistant coach at Essex for two seasons. His broader coaching background includes roles with Arsenal Soccer Schools Academy USA and as a consultant for the International Footballers Academy & Agency of America, where he helped develop talent for collegiate and professional opportunities.

As a player, Sousa was a standout right back and two-year starter at Union County College, where he played a pivotal role in the team’s historic 2009 run to Region XIX, District IV, and NJCAA National Championship titles—the first and only national title in program history. He also competed with Ironbound SC, TSF Academy, the Union Soccer League, and NJ Rangers (PDL).

Sousa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Rutgers University and is licensed through multiple coaching bodies, including the DFB–UEFA B License. He is dedicated to player development, academic excellence, and fostering a championship culture both on and off the pitch.
