Essex Wolverines Men’s Soccer Concludes Season as Region 19 Division II Runner-Up
West Windsor Township, NJ - The Essex Wolverines men's soccer team wrapped up an impressive 2025 campaign with a hard-fought appearance in the Region 19 Division II Championship, falling 6–1 to top-seeded Mercer County Community College on Saturday, November 1.
In the championship match, Alexandre Faiteson provided the lone goal for the Wolverines in the 81st minute, continuing his standout form down the stretch. Goalkeeper Schneider Barron faced heavy pressure against Mercer's dynamic attack, finishing the match with five saves on 11 shots while anchoring Essex's defense.
Despite the final result, the Wolverines capped off a remarkable season that showcased their growth, resilience, and attacking flair, finishing the year with a 10–4 overall record. Essex's journey to the championship match was marked by a series of determined postseason performances that solidified the program's place among the top teams in the region.
The season was filled with individual and team accomplishments. Three student-athletes earned First Team All-Region honors, while three Wolverines were recognized as Garden State Athletic Conference Division II Players of the Week. Additionally, one player earned NJCAA Division II Player of the Week honors, reflecting the high level of talent and commitment within the squad.
With a strong group of returning players and a culture built on hard work and unity, the Essex Wolverines are well-positioned to build on this year's success and continue competing at an elite level in Region 19.
