Wolverines Roll Past Delaware Tech

Newark, NJ — The Essex County College men's basketball team picked up a strong home victory Saturday afternoon, defeating Delaware Tech 80-74 behind a balanced offensive attack and dominant play on the boards.

Sophomore guard, Gabriel Morales led all scorers with 25 points, connecting on six three-pointers to pace the Wolverines' offense. Sophomore center, Rodney Willis Jr. controlled the paint with an impressive double-double, finishing with 18 points and 14 rebounds, including seven on the offensive glass. Freshman guard, Francis Demfack Tatanfack also recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while sophomore guard, Jason Martinez chipped in 12 points.

As a team, Essex shot 43.3 percent from the field and an efficient 41.4 percent from beyond the arc, knocking down 12 three-pointers and dishing out 20 assists in the win.

The Wolverines are back in action Tuesday night when they host Westchester Community College at 7:00 p.m. in Newark for the second meeting between the two teams this season.
