The Essex County College men’s basketball team showed poise and grit on the road

Scranton, PA- The Essex County College men's basketball team showed poise and grit on the road Tuesday night, outscoring Lackawanna College 45–34 in the second half to secure an 81–76 victory.

Trailing 42–36 at the break, the Wolverines tightened up defensively and controlled the glass after halftime. Rodney Willis Jr. anchored the effort with a dominant all-around performance, finishing with 16 points on 8-of-10 shooting, 11 rebounds, and three blocks to fuel the comeback.

Jaden Reid provided a spark off the bench, leading all scorers with 17 points on 8-of-14 shooting, while adding timely buckets during Essex's second-half surge. Ethan Laquindanum and Jason Martinez each chipped in 12 points, with Laquindanum also contributing four assists and three steals. Ryan English knocked down four field goals and two three-pointers to add 11 points in key minutes.

Essex County College won the rebounding battle 45–42 and forced 16 turnovers, turning defensive stops into crucial transition opportunities down the stretch. The Wolverines sealed the win at the free-throw line, hitting 16 of 23 from the stripe.

With balanced scoring and a strong finish, Essex County College left Lackawanna with a hard-earned road win, continuing to build momentum as the season progresses.

The next game will be home on Thursday, Dec. 18th at 7pm against Mercer County Community College.
