Rockville, MD - The Essex County College men's basketball team suffered an 80–62 defeat to Paul D. Camp Community College in their final game of the Montgomery College Tip-Off Tournament, despite a strong rebounding effort and several standout individual performances.
Ryan English led the Wolverines with 15 points, shooting 6-for-13 from the field and adding two steals. Emard Babacap contributed 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds, while Rodney Willis Jr. anchored the interior with 13 rebounds and four made free throws.
Sophomore guard Jason Martinez added seven points, four rebounds, and three assists. Off the bench, freshman guard, Francis Demfack Tatanfack provided a spark with eight points on 2-for-4 shooting from beyond the arc.
Although the Wolverines earned 34 total rebounds and forced nine steals, turnovers and cold shooting ultimately hindered their ability to keep pace with Paul D. Camp.
The Wolverines move forward looking to regroup as they prepare for their next non-conference matchup against Prince George on Tuesday, November 18th at 5:00pm in Essex's Cleo Hill Gymnasium.
