Wolverines Rally Falls Short

Newark, NJ - The Wolverines took on Region 19 foe Lackawanna College at home Tuesday night, falling 87-80. Essex was led by Jaidan Gilzene with 20 points and Ethan Laquindanum with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. In a close game back n forth, the Wolverines trailed by 10 at halftime, before scoring 46 second half points to mount a serious comeback that just fell short. The Wolverines would shoot 43% from the field, but failed to make key stops on defense to pull the victory out.

Sophomore and team captain Shane Cedres also chipped in with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Freshmen Jaden Reid with 16 points and 5 rebounds.

The Wolverines (0-5) return to action Thursday at home against Rown College of South Jersey - Cumberland(7pm tipoff).
