Wolverines outlast Falcons in Double Overtime

Newark, NJ - The Wolverines took on the Falcons of Lackawanna College in an exciting Region 19 Matchup on Tuesday Januaray 30th at the Cleo Hill Physical Education Building. In a game where both teams created and converted consistent offense, the Wolverines prevailed in Double overtime 122-120. The Wolverines led 53-44 at halftime, but in the 2nd half the Falcons picked up their offensive game scoring 58 points to make this an interesting finish. In what was practically the last posession of the game, the Falcons hit a three pointer from the top of the left key to tie the game and send it to overtime. 

In the first overtime, both teams played smart and efficiently scoring eight points a piece. During the 2nd over time, the Wolverines outscored the Falcons 12-10 and came up with clutch free throws and defense to win the game. Koi Kirk Jr. led the Wolverines with 34 points and 7 rebounds, while Jaidan Gilzene scored 30 points and 10 rebounds as well. 

The Wolverines return to action Thursday Feb. 1st when they return to action with another Region 19 Matchup, at Mercer Community College for a 7pm tipoff.
