Newark, NJ - The Wolverines suffered a late defeat to Mercer on Saturday December 7th, 66-48. After being down by as many as 15 points at halftime, the Wolverines battled back in the 4th quarter scoring 16 points and only giving up 8 points to cut the deficit. However, Mercer would pull out the victory with three quarters of good defence and solid shooting. The Wolverines were led by Mia Marie Thomas with 18 points and Natalie Fonseca with 5 rebounds and 5 assists and 4 steals. Essex held their opponents to only 28.1 % shooting, but only shot 22.8% from the field themselves as well.
The Wolverines (2-5) return to action at home Tuesday vs Harcum College at 5pm.
